On Earth, in a not-so-distant future…
Guruko was raised on a small island, hidden from the rest of the world. She lived with her Grandma Luna, who often reminded her:
“Listening is a gift you should use as often as you can.”
Her closest companion was a platypus who fancied himself a philosophical writer. Guruko had named him Cha Cha. Taking Grandma Luna’s words to heart, she believed it was only natural to understand the voices of animals, plants, and all living things.
She learned much by exploring the wonders of the island—studying everything she could from Cha Cha, from Grandma Luna, from many books, and especially one titled One Daily Tale, which told the story of the Seven Shapes of Esperia…
But what Guruko didn’t yet know was that the world beyond her island wasn’t as peaceful as the smiling clouds drifting through her skies…
