A Forgotten Value Called Humility

The widespread use of magic had changed the landscape and the way of life of the Espers across the world.

Magic had also paved the way for the creation of new technologies that allowed them to remain active even at night and operate machines far more powerful than their own muscles.

Thus, the Espers were now capable of radically transforming a place according to their desires.

Intoxicated by their new powers, the Espers were gradually losing their humility…

Where, in the past, the Espers had to adapt to the environment that was given to them, along with its fauna and flora, they could now overcome it and impose their desires, even if it meant destroying an entire ecosystem along the way.

For the Espers, life had become easier, but they had also become increasingly dependent on the use of magic.

Where humility could have allowed the Espers to slow down and ask themselves the right questions about the reckless development of their civilization, only the race for power and domination seemed to occupy the minds of those who held authority…
