A Shared World

Atma, the Shape of Balance, had the difficult task of teaching about the reality of the world—especially to the younger Espers, who loved using magic as much as they could because it was fun.

She said:
“In a world with infinite resources, using magic without limitations would be possible. But we now understand that every use of magic consumes Aether. And Aether is shared by every living thing in the world.”

“The discovery of the flow of Aether was a revolution for Esperia. Until then, we didn’t know there was a limit to magic, nor did we understand its impact.”

A young Esper asked:
“So when I use magic, I deplete some Aether… Is there a way to restore it?”

“By developing your StarDust. The brighter it shines, the more it generates.”

Balance is difficult to grasp, and this is why, day by day, with practice and habits, it becomes easier.

    The Freedom to Act

Developing the element of Fire within one’s StarDust is certainly one of the most counterintuitive things to do. Why? Because it requires us to do things that frustrate us or that we simply do not feel like doing. It means holding back from eating or drinking too much, even during a truly delicious meal. It…

Balance at the Heart of Physical and Mental Health

On Esperia too, health was often at the center of discussions, and for a good reason: seeing suffering is not something one wishes for, neither for oneself, nor for loved ones, nor for strangers, nor even for those who may have caused us harm. Especially if one looked back at the events of the past,…

    Indulgence and Strictness Toward Oneself

Cha Cha, our dear little platypus who thought of himself as a philosopher, reflected on the difficulty of finding a balance between indulgence and strictness toward oneself. Too indulgent, and one lets oneself go, giving free rein to excuses and easily placing the blame on others, on the current situation, or even on the world…

The Importance of a Healthy Routine

The task of rebuilding Esperia on solid foundations was enormous. The Seven Shapes therefore decided to emphasize the…

    Different Levels of Consciousness

If the causes leading to this realization were many and varied, the result was undeniable: not all the Espers possessed the same level of consciousness. Taking the case of a single individual, their awareness of the world around them begins in childhood, with the education they receive from a very young age. As the years…
