A Simple Speck Among the Stars

The Espers throughout the world had the unfortunate tendency to think of themselves as the center of the world.

And with good reason, each one was truly the main character of their own story, so how could they be blamed for putting their choices or their own well-being and comfort first?

But sometimes, or even often, at the expense of those close to them, their community, or their planet…

That is why Gurumin, the Shape of Empathy, would sometimes try to put things into perspective, so that selfish behavior would not always be the choice of the Espers throughout the world.

“Every Esper, whoever they may be, is nothing more than a simple speck among the stars…”

“Close your eyes for a moment. Those same eyes that make you see the world only through your own point of view.”

“And now imagine a camera pointed at you, filming you. At first, from close up, you can clearly see yourself in the image it records. Then, little by little, the camera moves farther away from you: now we see your home, the neighborhood where you live, the city, then the region, the land, the entire planet…”

“Then the star that brings gentleness and light to Esperia…”

“Then the other billions of stars forming an unimaginable number of galaxies…”

“We are all nothing more than a speck among the stars…”
