Adaptability

The Espers were now faced with a major problem. Without realizing it, until now, they had gradually damaged their environment while consuming the life energy of the planet, the Aether.

They had no idea that the use of their elemental magic was the cause.
It had become so natural to them that having to restrain themselves from using their magic seemed like an insurmountable task.

Vati, the Form of Wisdom, then thought that if there was one thing the Espers were capable of, it was adapting, even to situations that at first glance seemed hopeless.

Indeed, the Espers had finally realized that they carried within them the StarDust, which allowed them to adapt more easily, to feel more empathy, and to act with greater determination when a just cause gave them a goal to reach.

“Admitting our mistakes, finally seeing the reality of the problems at hand, understanding them and facing them—this is the work we must all do. By adapting to the reality of our world and acting together, there is hope.”

“Having to restrain ourselves from using magic will not be easy, that is certain. But just as we now know how to develop our StarDust, by making the necessary efforts day after day, a more just society will be born as we adapt, little by little.”

Just as the brain needs failure to grow, it also needs to overcome adversity in order to learn. If there is no obstacle, why progress? The twist is that throughout history, this need for obstacles has sometimes taken the form of creating enemies. In many languages, this took the name of “barbarians.” In ancient times,
