Choices and Priorities

The end of the Chaos War had nevertheless, despite the ecological and civilizational devastation it had caused, brought with it perhaps, at last, the solutions needed to build a society living in harmony with nature and at peace.

Vati, the Shape of Wisdom, then spoke.

“When the Eclipse cast a veil over the StarDust that lives within each of us, our Shadow took control and led to the Chaos War…”

“Until now, we did not know this StarDust, which, when cultivated, allows us to perceive our Shadow… Nor did we know Atma, the Shape of Balance.”

“We had not yet understood how harmful the use of magic was to the planet, because every time magic is used, a little of Aether, the source of life, is consumed.”

“This will be an extraordinary challenge for the Espers, and that is why choices and priorities must finally be established, taking all of these elements into account.”

In a world of limited resources, where time is precious for every Esper, it becomes essential to rethink the very foundations of learning and education.

“Thanks to the StarDust, we now know that by nurturing it, we can become better versions of ourselves, become more capable of discussing important matters with wisdom, and show empathy toward ourselves and others, while understanding the limits of the world in which we live.”

“The wisdom that I now strive to represent as humbly as possible—is it not to make the right choices and to give priority to the knowledge that allows the StarDust to grow within each of us?”

    One Step a Day

The revelation of the StarDust profoundly changed the way Espers thought. They now understood that a bright StarDust was the key to perceiving their own Shadow, and therefore gaining a deeper understanding of themselves. The Seven Shapes were reflecting on how things had changed since the end of the Chaos War. “The discovery of the StarDust was truly the key to understanding ourselves,” thought Vati. “Yes, and Atma, the Shape of Balance, was also a missing element in being able to create One Daily Tale,” said Shala. “In order…

Though Esperia was now living in peace, many wars had been fought, and the last one, the Chaos War, finally led the Espers to realize that the StarDust, shared by every Esper, was the key to developing a society in harmony. Health was understood to be an essential pillar of that harmony, and Kenko, the…

    Simple clothes and food

Eklea liked to hold on to this simple question. “In the end, what truly defines who you are?” It took time to reflect on such a question, and she knew that most Espers didn’t naturally ask themselves anything like this. When you become too attached to the possessions you own, they begin to define you.…

Joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. Human emotions may be what truly define us as “unique” among other living species. We find joy in the little pleasures life brings to us: the warmth of the sun rising in the morning, a cool breeze in summer, the beautiful colors of autumn leaves. Anger, sometimes, arises when we…

    Pros and Cons

The Seven Shapes reflected on what balance was truly about. “This isn’t about stillness,” said Vati, who liked the image of a wave to represent balance. Atma, the Shape of Balance, gently nodded in agreement. In some cultures, this idea was shown as light opposing darkness; in others, as the Yin and the Yang. It…
