Gurumin, the Shape of Empathy, often reminded adult Espers who sometimes lacked empathy that, as responsible adults, they had a duty to set an example for the younger generations.
She did not, of course, deny the personal circumstances that could make emotions stronger than reason.
But for all the children of the world, adults now had this responsibility to lead by example.
Rebuilding Esperia would require everyone’s efforts, and educating the younger generations around shared values, finally respected by all, would play a vital role in creating a brighter, fairer future in harmony with the planet’s physical limits.
She also compassionately reminded them that they should not forget the children they had all once been: naive and curious, but also, and above all, passionate and full of dreams.
For if there was one thing that could help their civilization rebuild itself, it was the strength and freshness of children throughout the world.
