Giving Your Trust

The Seven Shapes continued to study the Shadow of the civilization of the Espers that had been perceived when the StarDust was revealed before everyone’s eyes.

On an individual level, now that every Esper had the ability to perceive their own Shadow, it had been understood that this Shadow was very fearful and wary.

But the Seven Shapes had also understood that the Espers had to learn to live together, and that, in order to do so, it was essential to learn to give their trust to others.

The first step, as always, is often the hardest.

Breaking the ice requires effort, energy, and above all, opening oneself up.

A true leap into the unknown, which sometimes, it is true, may not land where one had hoped.

One can be deceived, disappointed, or even ignored sometimes.

But is that not once again the reaction of a person still ruled by their Shadow, who sometimes sees, in someone giving their trust, an attempt at intrusion?

Giving your trust means learning to listen to others, but also, and perhaps above all, learning to listen to yourself…

    Finding Yourself Through Love

Does this title sound cliché? I guess so. But is it true? Absolutely. Of course, the word love carries as many meanings as there are human beings on our shared planet. For most of us, the first love we experience is that of our mother, who carries us for months and cares for us by…

    The “Modern World”

Cha Cha, our platypus friend, was thinking about what the “Modern World” had become—and how paradoxical it was. Thanks to new technologies that turned machines into the world’s new servants, life had become easier for some of the richest countries. For willpower, her element of fire offered an easy image to grasp—one that clearly showed how willpower has its limits. To keep a fire alive, you need the right amount of fuel. If the fire burns too fiercely, it…

    Collective Consciousness

Eklea was reflecting on how Esperia had radically changed since the end of the Chaos War and the discovery of StarDust. “This created a collective consciousness,” she whispered. Indeed, the different elemental Espers had never thought of Esperia as a whole before this event. She believed that even if a few Espers were aware of…
