Vangel, our little dog from the Land of Fire, was torn between the hope that what he was undertaking could truly change things, and the fear that the inertia of the system might simply be too strong.
But he was convinced of one thing: if those who think do not act, then nothing will change anyway.
Some things were inevitable, that was true.
The planet’s resources were finite. That was a physical reality.
But how those resources were exploited, and how they were then distributed among the entire population around the world, was not something inevitable.
The inequalities people perceived were therefore not unavoidable.
On an individual scale, however, this could take such a form, because the power of mass movement seemed, at first glance, impossible to change.
But, like little seeds that would take several generations to reveal themselves, Vangel saw personal responsibility as an act for the future.
If acting does not necessarily make us happier, nor change the world we live in now, it will have potential consequences in the long term.
