Initial Condition

Eklea, the Shape of Awareness, often reminded her students that the Initial Condition of a situation has a significant impact on its outcome.

Does that seem obvious? Perhaps—if you’ve thought about it.

Does it mean we are bound by where we start?

Of course not. But realizing that the starting point is not the same for everyone gives us perspective on our own place.

It can humble us and encourage us to take more responsibility for those who didn’t have an equivalent Initial Condition.

Eklea remembered the days following the end of the Chaos War, when many Espers from different Elements still could not see one another as equals.

Yet, if you consider the Initial Condition in a broader sense—seeing the bigger picture—you can understand that there were no differences from the very beginning.

The Five Elements were simply parts of a greater whole: the StarDust.
