Knowledge Is Not Innate

The world before the Chaos War appeared, on the surface, to bear the signs of one of the most modern and advanced civilizations.

Magic had enabled the development of technologies that would have seemed like sorcery to the ancestors of the Espers.

But although the world as a whole had modernized, every new Esper still had to be educated in the knowledge whose quantity grew greater with each passing day.

Some tended to forget it, but knowledge is not innate.

The education of the young, which should therefore have held a prominent place in a well-functioning society, was nevertheless still not a priority.

New technologies, which brought ever more comfort and convenience, were also beginning to erode the quality of education.

Certain truths were fading, certain stories were being rewritten, certain discoveries were being set aside.

When knowledge is not innate, a world where it can at any moment be changed and passed on finds itself at a pivotal moment.

What knowledge will truly be passed on to future generations?
