Learning to Know Your Shadow

Before the revelation of the StarDust to everyone, the presence within each Esper of a Shadow of their own had sometimes been glimpsed, suspected, or felt, but never had it been so easy to perceive.

It was therefore a new experience for many, intriguing, surprising, sometimes even difficult and trying, but always real.

For this Shadow cannot be separated from the person who possesses it.

Neither one nor the other is the true one.

Both represent a unique self, and that is why learning to know one’s Shadow meant learning to know oneself better.

Moments of meditation, when one can be surprised by the flow of thoughts that seem disordered within this Shadow.

Or moments when one takes the time to observe a nature that is becoming increasingly discreet in the face of modern technologies, and which makes us realize the smallness of our own self before the vastness of the entire Universe.

Knowing one’s Shadow better is not a promise of happiness, nor even of any kind of thing that has value for society.

It is simply the promise of realizing who we truly are.
