Learning to Pass On

If the use of magic had brought many benefits to the daily lives of the Espers, the world before the Chaos War had changed enormously, for better and for worse.

No one could have imagined how much society would change thanks to the new technologies made possible by magic.

The population had exploded, as had life expectancy, leading to an increasingly aging population that was becoming more and more individualistic and divided.

Whereas in the past, ancestors passed on their knowledge not only to their children, but also to their grandchildren and beyond, the tradition of passing on knowledge and fair and equitable values was gradually being lost.

Young people were increasingly left to fend for themselves, with parents who remained children at heart, absorbed in their personal pursuits, while older people gradually lost contact with their families, and with it, the opportunity to pass on what they knew.

The societal changes brought about by magic were enormous. And yet, like insects hypnotized by the light of a streetlamp, few seemed to care about the real challenges that the civilization of the Espers nevertheless needed to address.
And because they were unable to do so, the Chaos War took place.

But this disaster would also have an unexpected, fortuitous, and welcome consequence: the discovery of the StarDust, which would lead to the reconstruction of Esperia and the creation of One Daily Tale…
