Magic and Aether

The excessive development of the Espers’ civilization through the use of magic had also made it possible to understand its consequences for the entire planet.

Just as the Espers learn from their mistakes, perhaps irony had it that they would understand, decades later, the true gravity of their past actions.

Magic had given them the tools and technologies needed to analyze their impact on Aether, the planet’s source of life.

It had still been little understood before the use of magic.

But magic was also consuming it, little by little, with each use.

And for a society now completely dependent on magic, the challenge was very real.

Amid its misfortune, the Chaos War had given birth to a light filled with hope, a first for their civilization.

the StarDust, as well as the birth of Atma, the Shape of Balance.

The Espers would have to make choices, often difficult ones.

And to help them make those choices, the quest for the seven artifacts was the first step toward the new Esperia.

For the completely excessive use of magic had thrown their civilization into a profound imbalance with the nature that sustained them and had created evils that had never existed before.

    By the Union of All

Aether, the life source of the planet, had been greatly reduced, and the natural process of its regeneration was slow—far slower than its consumption through the use of Esper magic. From now on, one…

    Fair Judgment

Vati, the Shape of…
