Of Balance and Waves

When Atma was born, she brought with her a new concept. Balance in everything is like a wave: the cycle of day and night, the turning of the seasons, even life and death.

There were natural rhythms all around Esperia, and when one looked more closely, they all seemed like waves. Sound, light, the flow of Aether—born of StarDust and used to bring forth life and magic.

The cycle of learning and teaching, of being born and creating life, flowed in the same way.

It was Atma’s role to remind all of the importance of maintaining these waves.

Why?

Because just as the waves of the ocean can be calm and gentle, they can also rise as tidal waves, bringing havoc and destruction.

With Atma’s guidance, the Espers could work with their StarDust, keeping the balance between using magic, which consumed Aether, and nurturing their StarDust, which created it.

This was the key to harmony on Esperia.
