Once in a Lifetime

Shala would ask the young Espers what came to their minds when thinking about events that occur only once in a lifetime.

A very intrepid child replied first: “The birth of my younger sister!”

“Indeed, the birth of a new life is something that becomes a great challenge for the parents.”

Vati added: “Raising a child means taking responsibility and becoming a guide when the time comes.”

Another young Esper of the wind said sadly: “My pet passed away. I was told it wouldn’t come back. Is that true?”

Gurumin took the child onto her lap and said: “Sadly, just as birth comes only once, so does the moment when we pass away.”

“But all the happiness you shared isn’t gone. And remember, every moment you spent together was a once-in-a-lifetime event as well. So as much as you can, try to cherish the time you spend with the people you love most. They are all once-in-a-lifetime events.”
