What kind of world are we going to leave behind for future generations?
Can we really behave so selfishly that, even though we now fully understand how human behavior has impacted the world, we still choose to ignore what must be done—as if nothing will go terribly wrong if we continue doing nothing?
Future generations, not even born yet, have done nothing wrong.
Many of us go through each day doing nothing wrong either.
Yet many of us are still unaware of what’s truly happening.
Earth will continue to exist, even if the conditions to live on it become extremely difficult—for nature, for animals, and for us humans.
There have been extinctions before, caused by natural cataclysms.
But this would be the first of its kind: a well-understood, self-inflicted cataclysm.
This can still be avoided.
The choice is in our hands.
