The Seven Shapes had indeed come to understand that balance had to lie at the heart of the Espers’ discussions, thoughts, and daily lives.

It was an essential condition for creating the harmony that had once seemed like an unreachable dream without the new foundations brought by the writing of One Daily Tale.

Each element, nurtured with balance every day, nourished the small light that existed within every Esper: the StarDust.

It still remained a great mystery, and there was still much to learn about it.

But one thing had now become certain: developing one’s StarDust made it possible to perceive the inner Shadow that slumbers within everyone.

This Shadow is neither good nor evil in itself; it is an inseparable part of every individual.

By developing their StarDust, the Espers became able to understand themselves better, accept their mistakes, and take responsibility, both toward themselves and toward others, as well as toward the nature that provided them with what they needed to live: the Aether of the planet.

Developing personal balance was therefore one of the foundations of a civilization capable of engaging in meaningful conversations and thoughtful debates on sensitive subjects.
