Practicing thinking about the future

The reconstruction of Esperia after the War of Chaos was the perfect opportunity to finally build a prosperous civilization that cared for the ecosystem on which it depended.

It was with this purpose in mind that the Seven Shapes began writing One Daily Tale, intended for anyone who wished for a fairer world living in harmony with the environment.

The Shape of Time, Shala, was there to remind the Espers of something they found difficult to do: think about the future.

The very nature of the Espers often limited them to seeing the world only as they perceived it in the present moment.

They had to practice thinking about the future and try to understand the world from a broader perspective.

The discovery of the StarDust had given them the key to overcoming this lack of awareness: day after day, by developing their own StarDust, it became possible to see the world from a new perspective, no longer focused only on oneself, as is natural to do, but also on others and future generations.

It is simple: before problems can be solved, they must first be seen.

Practicing thinking about the future was a way to begin seeing things from a new perspective, where the everyday actions of every Esper gained meaning in relation to the challenges facing the planet they all shared.

    Once-in-a-lifetime

“Every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime event,” Shala, the Shape of Time, would often remind the young Espers. From an objective point of view, as the Espers were living beings, the time they were able to spend was limited; thus, every single event is one that will never happen again. Even if circumstances may seem similar—for…

Guruko and Simba, her platypus companion, continued to observe and learn from human society on Earth. It reminded them greatly of how Esperia was before the end of the Chaos War. A Fresh Start

Trying to build a world where peace would prevail was not an easy mission at all. There were so many things to take into account, but the Seven Shapes agreed that flexibility should remain a point of focus. Because flexibility allows for communication, the ability to try new things, and even, at times, to take…

    Sincere and honest

The Element of Wind focused on interactions with others more than the other elements. Of course, being of another element like Fire or Water didn’t prevent one from leaning toward this trait, but the Espers of the Wind had the most natural affinity for it. Instinctively, they could sense the presence of their inner Shadow,…

There were many debates taking place in the Great Library of Esperia, a place where all the Espers of the Five Elements could gather, discuss with one another, and exchange ideas and opinions. Having different backgrounds made the discussions rather interesting, but the rules were set by the Seven Shapes so that there would be…

    Rise and Fall

It had been a while since we last took a look at Guruko and Simba, her little platypus companion. As they were studying human society on Earth, both were surprised and shocked by its development. “How can these living beings sometimes be capable of creating such wonderful things, yet at other times be so cruel…
