The ecological catastrophe that followed the War of Chaos had been the turning point for the Espers, creatures endowed with the ability to use magic.
But this magic had a price, and that price had caused severe consequences for Esperia’s ecosystem.
One thing was now clear for the Espers: continuing as before would not work, and while some still imagined and dreamed that using more magic could help find a solution, the truth was now evident to all: their planet had physical limits, incompatible with the reckless use of magic.
For on Esperia, the use of magic consumed, with every use, a part of Aether, the life source of the planet, shared by the Espers themselves, but also by other living beings, the forests, the mountains, and the oceans.
The task was gargantuan.
But although the Espers had until now been divided by their respective elements, the awareness of a global objective for all was changing everything.
If an individual cannot change an entire planet alone, they nevertheless remain an essential part of what forms the group, and the group, in turn, can act.
