Zoro demonstrates remarkable discipline in his training routine. For instance, he performs arm exercises by swinging an extraordinarily heavy pole—50 kg! Resistance training is well-known for building muscle and strength, though we don’t need to match Zoro’s level of intensity!

On average, sedentary individuals lose about 1% of muscle mass per year after their 20s. This decline can accelerate to over 3% per year for some individuals after their 50s, particularly if they face health issues. However, engaging in regular exercise, especially resistance training, can help mitigate and even reverse muscle mass loss.

While we may not all aspire to train like Zoro, it’s important to incorporate regular exercise into our routines to counteract natural muscle loss.

Personal Advice

I personally go bouldering (2 or 3 times a week, for about 2 hours per session). I find it to be an excellent full-body workout. It enhances flexibility and perseverance as I often fall and fail, but each attempt improves my ability to tackle more challenging climbs.

If bouldering isn’t an option for you or simply isn’t your preference, there are many other cost-effective alternatives. At home, you can start with bodyweight exercises such as stretching, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, or planks. These basic exercises don’t require any equipment and can be performed daily to maintain overall fitness.
