The time gained through the use of magic, new technologies, and agriculture had also helped shed some light on another mystery of Esper civilization: harmony between the two sexes.
Although, for the survival of their species, the two had to build families and reproduce, communication and harmony between the two sexes were far from being a given.
Just as the differences between Espers from the various elemental lands had their own intrinsic characteristics, yet they all belonged to the same species, the same observation could be made of the two sexes.
Trying to better understand the other sex had thus become one of the essential tasks for the better functioning of their society.
Centuries of history and tales told of how the two sexes sometimes seemed diametrically opposed.
But is that not, in reality, the manifestation of a normally invisible balance?
