The Flexibility of Mind That Builds Dialogue

Lune Lune, our cat companion of the water element, now accompanied Guruo to his lessons.

At first, he had been reluctant to go, but the teachings given in the Great Library of Esperia truly spoke to him.

There were many things to learn, of course.

But one thing had changed since the Seven Shapes had revived certain foundations of education.

Even though he found the title given to Vati, “Shape of Wisdom,” a little pretentious, attending her lessons helped him understand the true meaning of the word “wisdom.”

Like many others, he imagined wisdom as being highly learned: accumulating knowledge and always having the right answer.

But Vati, on the contrary, was the first to admit when she—or anyone else—could be wrong.

That no one could know everything, and that if there was one thing truly worth developing, it was flexibility of mind.

Why?

Because it allowed us to build dialogue—not only with others, of course, but also with ourselves.

“With ourselves?” asked a young Esper, intrigued as he attended the lesson.

“When we are carried along by the flow of the day, our lessons, and the time we spend with our friends, we sometimes forget to take the time to listen to ourselves.”

“Flexibility of mind allows us to hear that inner voice that we all carry within us, but which we can only perceive when we truly choose to listen…”

Guruo anticipated Vati’s words.

“Our Shadow…”

The StarDust that we cultivate allows us to perceive our Shadow, and developing flexibility of mind helps us enter into dialogue with it. For it is part of who we truly are.”
