The Iridescent Hourglass

Shala, the Shape of Time, was now known to all the Espers. The end of the Chaos War had revealed the existence of the StarDust, had given birth to Atma, the Shape of Balance, and had brought Shala’s existence to light.

The abstract nature of time had been made easier for everyone to understand through the creation of an artifact, at the moment when Shala appeared before everyone’s eyes.

The Iridescent Hourglass.

Sand in the colors of the rainbow recalled the five elements and the importance of balance, while its flow represented the past, present, and future.

For creatures naturally inclined to focus first and foremost on the immediate, anyone who had obtained the Iridescent Hourglass had a better understanding of the importance of time.

Learning from the past, anticipating the future, and thinking about the generations to come…

All of this can only be done in the present moment.

Just like the other artifacts, each Esper could obtain their own during an initiatory journey that allowed them to learn about the other elements, as well as about themselves.
