The Shadow of Willpower

Let us continue our little journey exploring the Shadow that slumbers within every Esper and reveals itself unconsciously.

Today, let us take a closer look at the Shadow of Willpower.

Yesterday, Kenko, the Shape of Health, explained how our Shadow sometimes acts against our long-term well-being.

When it comes to responsibility and willpower, the Shadow also acts to protect its host above all else. As a result, it gives priority to actions that benefit oneself before anything else.

Just as the StarDust combines the five elements in perfect balance, the Shadow also interacts with each of the elements in its own way.

The Shadow tries as much as possible to reduce its host’s energy expenditure, creating feelings of laziness or a lack of motivation at the thought of demanding tasks, such as studying or making physical efforts.

Faya, the Shape of Willpower, had formed a relationship with her Shadow of Willpower from a very young age. That was what made her famous, for she was known for her remarkable perseverance in the face of adversity.

She wished to conclude with these few words:

We all have a role to play in helping build a prosperous civilization, living in harmony with nature and in harmony with ourselves.

Our Shadow sometimes turns us away from our responsibilities because it is trying to protect and preserve us.

Of course, we must also remember Atma, the Shape of Balance, so that we do not unknowingly push ourselves beyond our limits.

But thanks to our StarDust, little by little, we can learn to better understand our Shadow and begin to tame it.”
