Third Eye

Eklea liked to use concrete examples to explain abstract notions that were difficult to grasp, especially for the younger Espers.

This time, she used the example of a one-versus-one game played by two Espers. The game had a lot of depth, and a well-timed move could completely change the tide of the match.

She said, “When you are just a spectator, it is so much easier to see the good moves ahead than when you are the one playing.”

This isn’t only true for games, but for daily life as well. Sometimes, you are so focused on your own point of view that it becomes difficult to see a much simpler way to solve a problem.

I call it “The Third Eye.”

“Whenever you find yourself in a given situation, try to think as if you had a third eye—one that allows you to watch from the outside, free of heat or stress.”

The Seeds of a Just World

When the Seven Shapes first explained the principles of One Daily Tale, a silence could be heard throughout the entire world. It was so simple that it left many of them perplexed, as they had expected far-fetched theories, unreasonable efforts, or even a return to the Stone Age. There was nothing of the sort. It…

A Simple Speck Among the Stars

The Espers throughout the world had the unfortunate tendency to think of themselves as the center of the world. But sometimes, or even…

Inequalities continued to grow between the winners of an exacerbated globalization and those…

    What Do We Really Need?

It was a question that often came up in the debates at the Great Library of Esperia, which, since the end of the Chaos War, had served Espers from all over the world as a place to exchange ideas, discuss, and try to find compromises on difficult issues. The Chaos War had indeed brought to…

    Investing Time Every Day

The civilization of the Espers before the Chaos War had gradually become accustomed to having everything done almost instantly. Waiting was becoming unbearable for many of them, and a long-term perspective seemed like nothing more than a vague memory of the past. Now that the StarDust was better understood, however, it seemed obvious that investing…
