Time Passes Quickly

The notion of time passing is difficult to perceive, even for the Espers, who were now gifted with the ability to use magic. Though it had made life easier for everyone, it had not changed their relationship with the flow of time.

Projecting oneself into the future is not an easy thing, especially when that future is distant enough that we will no longer be there…

But the planet Esperia was now facing an immense challenge. Its balance had been broken by the extensive use of magic, destroying a large part of its ecosystem and creating consequences that would take centuries before the most dramatic ones would finally appear.

And that was where the tragedy lay.

For the inertia of the system, now destabilized, slowed the process down, making it discreet, almost invisible.

On the scale of a single life, it became nearly imperceptible…

But when the Espers thought about future generations, time suddenly passed far too quickly.

And we then realize that we do not have enough time to address every existing problem at once.

Though the use of magic had simplified many things for the Espers, it had not changed the fact that every action and every decision still took time.

So they had to choose how to use this time that passes so quickly.

And upon those choices would depend the lives of future generations who had not even yet been born on Esperia…
