To the best of one’s ability

This chapter of One Daily Tale led at first to many debates among the Espers. Until then, they didn’t know about the StarDust, how to develop it, or how it could help them understand themselves better: the light created by their StarDust would enable them to see their inner Shadow, often hidden deep inside them.

“From now on, all of us should try and aim to act to the best of one’s ability!” was a motto delivered by Faya in the Willpower section.

Why did the debate take place? Because it meant that for many, until now, this hadn’t been the case. A very harsh realization for many, who simply denied this allegation.

It was especially difficult for the Espers who made the most use of their innate, powerful magic they had been blessed with, and those who were born into riches.

“It is a simple concept! Esperia can thrive in peace and harmony as long as every Esper develops their own StarDust. Magic and wealth, which were measured until now, can’t work; they are not representative of one’s effort to become their best self,” added Vati, the Shape of Wisdom.

“The StarDust, on the other hand, and how it shines, can now be measured, and it can be done by anyone. This was the missing key all along. And the more gifted we are, the more effort we have to make, because those StarDust can shine even stronger than the others.”
