What Seems Obvious to Us…

It is not necessarily so for others.

And if this conclusion may seem trivial, we still have to have thought about it in order to perceive it.

For when discussions become more heated and arguments begin to emerge, this awareness disappears beneath the veil of our Shadow, which then acts in our place when we are under the influence of our own emotions.

Remaining aware then becomes increasingly difficult, and we very quickly forget that what seems obvious to us is not necessarily obvious to others.

Sometimes, a child’s innocent question can make us realize that knowledge and experience are not innate, and that education is therefore essential for certain things to become obvious to everyone.

Respect for others, attentive listening, responsibility toward those who are more vulnerable, or even perceiving the consumer society of the modern world…

So many concepts or values that must be learned and are not obvious…

What has become obvious to us is therefore also very often the result of what was obvious to those around us, our education system, our culture…

There is nothing obvious about sharing the same values. The system as a whole must share them.

The only things that are obvious to everyone are our natural needs as individuals of the same species.

And these natural needs often drive us toward selfishness and individuality, rather than sharing and helping one another…

Has “modern” society evolved enough to realize this “obvious” truth?

    Skillful deception

The Seven Shapes understood that until the writings of One Daily Tale reached the majority of the Espers, many would continue to act unaware of their own inner Shadow—and how it often moved on their behalf. Eklea, the Shape of Awareness, perhaps had the most difficult task: to make it clear that skillful deception by…

    Crystal Clear

All five elements had traits and behaviors that felt most natural to them. The Espers of the Wind were well known for their listening skills and for their pure character. Each Element had a place in Esperia where it was easier to grow and develop. For the Wind, there was a place known for its…

    Incomplete measures

If there is one thing the Seven Shapes never failed to do since they wrote One Daily Tale, it was to lead by example. They understood very well the importance each individual held in creating a world of peace, and as the leaders of each Element, the Five Great Elements bore the difficult responsibility of…

How come it never happened before?” asked Guruko. “The end of the Chaos War was the beginning of it all. When the Five Great Elements clashed all at once…

To the best of one’s ability

This chapter of One Daily Tale led at first to many debates among the Espers. Until then, they didn’t know about the StarDust, how to develop it, or how it could help them understand themselves better: the light created by their StarDust would enable them to see their inner Shadow, often hidden deep inside them.…

    Excessive drinking and eating

Kenko, the Shape of Health, knew too well that most of the Espers would not want to hear her words at first. Why? Because she knew that once one has tasted the ease of luxury, of addiction through alcohol, and forgotten the hardship of simply being able to eat every day, it requires far more…
