What Seems Obvious to Us…

It is not necessarily so for others.

And if this conclusion may seem trivial, we still have to have thought about it in order to perceive it.

For when discussions become more heated and arguments begin to emerge, this awareness disappears beneath the veil of our Shadow, which then acts in our place when we are under the influence of our own emotions.

Remaining aware then becomes increasingly difficult, and we very quickly forget that what seems obvious to us is not necessarily obvious to others.

Sometimes, a child’s innocent question can make us realize that knowledge and experience are not innate, and that education is therefore essential for certain things to become obvious to everyone.

Respect for others, attentive listening, responsibility toward those who are more vulnerable, or even perceiving the consumer society of the modern world…

So many concepts or values that must be learned and are not obvious…

What has become obvious to us is therefore also very often the result of what was obvious to those around us, our education system, our culture…

There is nothing obvious about sharing the same values. The system as a whole must share them.

The only things that are obvious to everyone are our natural needs as individuals of the same species.

And these natural needs often drive us toward selfishness and individuality, rather than sharing and helping one another…

Has “modern” society evolved enough to realize this “obvious” truth?

    Doing Your Best

Even though the Seven Shapes had become symbols that helped the Espers develop their StarDust, none of them was perfect. Each had her own strengths and weaknesses, yet each did her best every day to strengthen her qualities and overcome her shortcomings. Eklea, the Shape of Awareness, who seemed to see the world differently from…

    Trust as a Fundamental Value

Gurumin, the Shape of Empathy, had been entrusted with the extremely complex task of becoming the symbol of a peaceful society, regardless of the element. Choices and Priorities

The end of the Chaos War had nevertheless, despite the ecological and civilizational devastation it had caused, brought with it perhaps, at last, the solutions needed to build a society living in harmony with nature and at peace. The Seven Shapes had indeed come to understand that balance had to lie…

    Everything in Its Own Time

Something that had long been forgotten during the period…

    The Consequences of Our Actions

The presence of Atma, the Shape of Balance, had brought something precious and unprecedented to Esperia: a simpler understanding of the importance of balance. Why was this so important for the Espers who were trying to build a civilization in harmony with their planet? Because every action has consequences. There are, of course, the consequences…

    The Freedom to Act

Developing the element of Fire within one’s StarDust is certainly one of the most counterintuitive things to do. Why? Because it requires us to do things that frustrate us or that we simply do not feel like doing. It means holding back from eating or drinking too much, even during a truly delicious meal. It…

Balance at the Heart of Physical and Mental Health

On Esperia too, health was often at the center of discussions, and for a good reason: seeing suffering is not something one wishes for, neither for oneself, nor for loved ones, nor for strangers, nor even for those who may have caused us harm. This last point may certainly lead to another debate, but a…
