You may tend to believe that, because you are just one person among the billions of individuals that make up humankind, you don’t matter much.

Perspective is important! On the scale of the universe, we are just tiny living organisms on a rocky spaceship we call Earth. On the scale of time, we live only a few decades, while the universe has existed for billions of years.

But on your own scale, your daily actions have an impact. First of all, your habits shape the person you will become. Second, you influence everyone you interact with—your family, your friends, even strangers who see you in passing.

Of course, where we live and where we are born create the first boundaries of our lives.

But you are the One who can decide what kind of person you want to become.

You are the One who can decide to care about the world.

You are the One who can choose not to turn your eyes away from reality.

You are the One.
