A Simple Life

The development of technologies based on fossil fuels has changed the way the richest countries ruling the world live and behave. Not that anyone would rather return to the Stone Age, but when we recognize the physical limitations of planet Earth, we understand that those who will suffer are not only the forms of biodiversity we destroy every day, but humankind itself.

While the consequences will not appear instantly, they will come if nothing changes—and it will be the future generations who bear them. We now have all the knowledge to understand that the lifestyle promoted by the wealthiest only adds to the burdens that future human beings will have to struggle with.

Do we care so much about ourselves that we willingly endanger the lives of our children?

Not consciously, for most. And this is where the idea of living a simple life can play a role.

Returning to the essential—what truly matters.

What is really important to you?

    Moderation

Before the end of the Chaos War, the concept of moderation scarcely existed among the Espers. Nature and all the creatures living within it created a virtuous circle, and the Espers — the magical beings — finally understood that the restriction on their use of magic served a greater purpose on their interconnected and limited planet. This…
