Being an Adult

At what moment do we truly become adults?

Is it simply a question of age? Of experience?

Isn’t being an adult, in the end, the awareness of our own responsibility toward others, and in particular toward future generations?

In their desire to rebuild Esperia on healthier foundations, the Seven Shapes had placed this notion of responsibility at the heart of society.

Faya, the Shape of Willpower, and Grand Element of Fire, had become the embodiment of this responsibility.

The environment in which each Esper lived largely determined what each newborn would become.

Education and learning shared values from an early age were therefore of crucial importance.

Isn’t it therefore the responsibility of those who can understand this to make choices for a society more in harmony?

For future generations, who will then be born into the world we leave them.

Perhaps that is what it means, then, to be an adult.

    A short period of power

What was unprecedented on Esperia was how detached from power and status the founders of One Daily Tale were. The Seven Shapes were mainly symbols of what good behavior toward one’s StarDust could lead to: harmony and peace. They were living examples of what they wrote as guides for everyone, themselves included. In the past,…
