Being Captivated by an Essential Subject

In the great library of Esperia, a conference led by Faya, the Shape of Will, was taking place.

Vingel, our little Fire dog, happened to pass by and took a look inside.

He heard Faya speak these words:

Very often, the problem is not a lack of willpower, courage, or effort. It is much simpler than that: we do not spend enough time focusing on the right subjects…”

“Instead of addressing the source of problems, we are often driven to urgently deal with their consequences, without ever truly tackling the heart of the issue.”

“It is like trying to fill a bathtub with a tiny glass of water while the bathtub itself is leaking.”

This little story made Vingel smile.

What, then, is the essential subject…” he wondered.

The Seven Shapes were present at the discussion, and together they presented the major challenges that needed to be addressed.

“To achieve lasting peace for everyone, the road will not be easy. It will require effort from all of us, but without it, we risk an extremely uncertain future for the generations to come…”

“The Five Elements must finally work hand in hand to create a shared vision for our civilization. We now know that without this, inequalities will continue throughout the world…”

“The values we promote will need to be rethought to build a fairer world, because the use of magic, although it has benefited us, has also produced unintended effects that we had not considered until now…”

“Aether, the life source of Esperia, has reached a very critical point. If it continues to decline, we are not exactly sure of the consequences. But one thing is clear: life on Esperia will become increasingly difficult…”
