Bended truth

Not long ago, we talked about the importance of deepening one’s knowledge of the information that flows through modern society.

Because by being aware that what is displayed as truth is not always the case, and is often bent by those in power, it becomes possible to detach ourselves from the ways they try to shape people’s minds.

Even on Esperia, led by Yakara, some individuals began to preach their own truth about how the Chaos War ended, and how Yakara was the sole leader and benefactor of Esperia.

“Who are we supposed to believe then?” was the pertinent question—one that only the Espers with enough awareness could ask themselves.

The younger ones, especially, were soon blinded by the speeches of Yakara, who promised wealth and glory to anyone who chose to follow in his footsteps.

For a young Esper, the “choice” was often quickly decided… Who would naturally want to restrain themselves for the good of the world when they are offered a way to avoid making the effort themselves?

Are you able to perceive the bended truth that surrounds you?

    Time to Reflect

It had become one of the pillars of the new Esperia. Shala, the Shape of Time, allowed Espers around the world to remember the importance of taking time to reflect. Time that, for many, had been devoted to entertainment before the Chaos War. They absolutely had to kill time. The use of magic had made…

For many, the days when searching for food took up most of the…

    Universal Consciousness

How can we not naturally think that we are at the center of the world when we see the world only through our own eyes? This was the starting point of a reflection by Eklea, the Shape of Consciousness, concerning a paradox of Esper civilization: on an individual scale, an act may seem entirely rational.…

Values at the Heart of the System

The world before the Chaos War was quite a bewildering spectacle. On the one hand, the use of magic had given the Espers technologies that allowed them to satisfy their thirst for individuality and freedom, which they championed under the banner of modernity. But on the other hand, the system in which they lived had…

Reconnecting with Strong Bonds to What Is Essential

The civilization of the Espers had gradually moved away from what was nevertheless necessary to meet their natural physiological needs. Being able to feed themselves had become an ordinary act, with no apparent connection to nature, its resources, or the ecosystem of which they were nevertheless a part. Why was it important, in the eyes…
