Excessive drinking and eating

Kenko, the Shape of Health, knew too well that most of the Espers would not want to hear her words at first.

Why? Because she knew that once one has tasted the ease of luxury, of addiction through alcohol, and forgotten the hardship of simply being able to eat every day, it requires far more effort to return to a healthy life, lived in balance—which implies restriction.

With the help of the other Shapes, she also had to struggle against the inertia of old customs and habits, often built without knowing what effects they would produce on health.

Indeed, in some cultures, being able to drink more and more alcohol was presented as a sign of strength. In others, being able to eat far beyond one’s needs was applauded.

To overcome these thoughts, built on false assumptions, required the combined effort of all the Five Elements, with Balance and Time kept in mind.

This was the work of a lifetime for the Seven Shapes, and it took the form of One Daily Tale.

You know the rest, as you are now reading one of its daily tales…
