Fair Judgment

To rebuild Esperia on healthy foundations for all, it had become clear that it was necessary to reach a fair judgment of what is good and what is bad.

“Easier said than done…” thought the Espers who had already reflected on this, yet also saw this idea as utopian and unrealistic.

Vati, the Shape of Wisdom, understood this very well. Being herself of the element of Water, she had inevitably been influenced by the customs and ways of her element.

Moreover, as the Five Elements had been in conflict for millennia, words such as barbarians or enemies were far more often used to refer to the other elements, rather than companion, friend, or equal.

No one can deny having biases, prejudices, preferences, or subjective opinions.

“But where the difference can be made is in whether one is aware of them or not.”

This is why Eklea, the Shape of Consciousness, can help us remember this.

“It is a work to be done on oneself, for it is not natural. Our own survival instinct often pushes us to take sides, and when our emotions speak, very often, our biases are speaking as well.”

“Understanding that it is then our subjectivity that guides us is essential in order to reach a judgment as fair as possible.”

    Critical Thinking

In Esperia, there was an extremely valuable skill that was slowly being developed by all the Espers: critical thinking. Because they were raised with the 7 Shapes in mind, they built up their own unique StarDust, which was in fact the physical materialization of their critical thinking! They understood that living in the present moment…

    The Basics

As one of the central places in Esperia, the Great Library had many sections, but all of them were interconnected. As much as possible, the Espers tried to remind themselves of the importance of the 7 Shapes. A section called “The Basics” received particular attention from its Elders, as all young Espers had to learn…

    Harmony

Harmony may have been the word that best described Esperia—a true utopia where nature, living creatures, and the Espers who populated this world spent their days in mutual respect. With the guidance of the 7 Shapes, and especially Atma, the Shape of Balance, the Espers contributed to sustaining their existence while preserving the land they…

    Appeal for the Future

We quickly forget what we don’t see before our eyes. That may be why the history of wars and violence seems to repeat itself again and again. No one can truly understand what happens during wars, during genocides, unless they witness it themselves. Most of those making decisions live in elite spheres, disconnected from the…
