Hearts United Beyond Borders

Cha Cha, our favorite platypus, had a bold reflection.

“What if the harmony of society rested on the idea of hearts united beyond borders…”

For many years and many years, ignorance of the existence of other peoples on the planet had given rise to fear of “others”.

In all the languages of the world, the term barbarian, describing a being who did not belong to one’s own clan, had been created.

And yet, one person’s barbarian is another person’s barbarian…

The realization that the Five Elements were, in reality, only parts of a single whole was still too recent for the Espers to naturally think beyond these barriers, though they were only imaginary, represented by cultural differences.

Indeed, how can we trust individuals whom we do not understand?

To try to understand, one must first ask the right questions, avoid judging beforehand, and not remain trapped by one’s assumptions or prejudices…

A lot of work, isn’t it?

That is why Cha Cha believed it was essential that, every day, this idea of a single civilization united beyond borders and differences be shared and discussed.

So that everyone could feel empathy for an individual from another element as much as for those from their own element…

    Children

If the debate between nature and nurture has endured through the ages, looking at it from the perspective of brain development makes it clear that nurture plays a significant role in shaping who a person becomes as an adult. Even in the womb, before the cognitive parts of the brain have fully developed, the emotional…

    Through our eyes

We tend to reproduce what we see, and we tend to want what we are shown. Failures

There is a certain irony in how the human brain works: for us to learn and grow, we also need to fail personally. Babies do it naturally when trying to grab objects, sit up, or learn how to walk: they try, fail, try again, fail again… When this was understood by the Espers on Esperia,…

    Climbing

Cha Cha liked studying human civilization and the various inventions humans had created—especially sports. One of them in particular captured his attention: climbing. He saw in it a philosophy of life: “You get to battle with yourself. You fail a lot, but try again a lot, and eventually succeed—or not. Sometimes what you lack is…

    Your Doors

We can be taught many things. But others can only bring us to the doors—we must open them with our own hands. Opening those doors will be up to you. And you alone. Some doors are harder to open. Others you won’t even know exist—until you meet new people or live new experiences. Some doors…
