Holding Onto Hope

Joliko, our little red panda companion, now understood the importance of health, not only on a physical level, but on a mental level as well.

Little by little, he had managed to distance himself from the addictions that had consumed him for years and had also kept him from understanding the reality of the world in which he lived.

He now saw the world with eyes finally opened, and while this had allowed him to see through society’s illusions, it had also drawn him into a spiral of sadness.

For indeed, seeing the state of things was not easy to accept for anyone who truly cared about future generations.

The rise in conflicts, the inaction in the face of the damage caused to the environment by the excessive use of magic: all of this could drive into depression anyone who truly understood the situation…

But he could also see individuals doing their very best each day.

He knew perfectly well that others, like him, could understand the problems and decide to confront them.

Alone, nothing is possible. Even the most powerful Esper or the most powerful magic cannot change an entire civilization in the blink of an eye.

But he was not alone. He simply needed to find the companions with whom, together, a community would come to life.

For holding onto hope allows us to act for the future.
