Learning to Listen to Your Shadow

The post-Chaos War was a new world where the Espers around the world now had to learn to listen to their Shadow.

It was an easier task for those who had already made a habit of listening to themselves and taking time for themselves, without the futile distractions that allow them to kill time.

For the most devoted, it was through meditation.

For many others, it was also by talking with loved ones, through tears and laughter, accepting their own emotions and sharing them.

Yet, for some, this task was extremely difficult.

By thinking too much, or believing that they already knew themselves very well, some Espers would become detached from their true Shadow and create another, artificial one, becoming a substitute for their true Shadow.

Instead of learning to listen to their Shadow, they listened to their own words, and did not then carry out this essential work of reflection and introspection.

While believing they were doing so, it was in reality merely an illusion often created unconsciously, sometimes to repress traumas that were far too painful.
