Life is Ephemeral

The recognition of this principle had allowed Esperia to be rebuilt on fairer foundations for all.

Remembering daily the presence of Shala, the Shape of Time, was a way for the Espers to remind themselves that life was ephemeral, allowing them to appreciate not only their own existence more intensely, but also the lives of others even more.

“This makes one more humble, for all the lives on our planet then share a common dimension,” thought Vati, the Shape of Wisdom.

“But for some, the understanding of this principle creates such fear that they try by every means to turn away from it,” she continued, worried.

“Yes, it takes the form of a forward escape toward immortality, which becomes possessions for some and glory for others,” confirmed Eklea, the Shape of Consciousness.

“Some are so deeply rooted in their own fear that they are no longer aware that the other living beings on this planet have real existences and can suffer as well.”

“By understanding this, and by also integrating the other principles delivered by the Five elements, it becomes easier to see life from another perspective, with more empathy for others. It also becomes simpler to appreciate one’s life more fully.”
