Nature Has No Price

The functioning of Esper society was based on a simple concept, but one that was now causing a serious problem: nature has no price.

The Espers had freely taken control of the land, rivers, and seas, without ever needing to provide anything in return.

For decades, recent technologies had also begun to reach the skies: air pollution had added to their increasingly destructive impact on the planetary ecosystem.

While it was nature that provided them with the resources necessary for their survival, it did not appear in most calculations…

And yes, no one had given it a price…

Yet it was the most precious and irreplaceable of all.

Not for the planet. It had seen worse and better times.

But for them.

Another paradox for the civilization of the Espers before the Chaos War.
