Once-in-a-lifetime

“Every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime event,” Shala, the Shape of Time, would often remind the young Espers.

From an objective point of view, as the Espers were living beings, the time they were able to spend was limited; thus, every single event is one that will never happen again. Even if circumstances may seem similar—for example, a good time spent with friends or family—time has flowed for everyone, and the moment is therefore slightly different.

It is easy to consider some events more meaningful than others, because they may, for instance, have a greater impact at the precise moment they occur.

Yet what if we took a little time to think about time itself, and about the idea that every single moment is a once-in-a-lifetime event? Or better, an opportunity?

This perspective can help us cherish the present moment more, enjoy the daily routine that goes along with preserving nature, and guide us to create even stronger bonds in the relationships we care about.

Today, why not keep this in mind when you spend time with your loved ones? Something that seems trivial is, in fact, once-in-a-lifetime.
