Outraged by the World’s Wrongs

Before the War of Chaos, Esperia faced two major problems, yet they remained hidden in the shadow of the splendor of the new technologies created through the ever-growing use of magic across the world.

And these two problems concerned everyone, regardless of their element.

A number of people had begun to examine the use of magic and its consequences for the environment. Ever since magic had become commonplace for the Espers of the world, the rapid development of their civilization had gradually decimated forests, oceans, and countless living species in its wake.

No one knew it at the time, but every use of magic consumed a little of the planet’s Aether, its source of life.

But magic had drastically transformed the planet’s landscape, and returning to a world without it now seemed unthinkable…

The second major problem was no less serious, but perhaps even more insidious, for it targeted future generations even more directly.

New technologies had radically transformed learning and education. In a frantic race to develop, before anyone else, a technology capable of dominating the entire planet, the consequences were not being taken into account.

Once again, alas.

But while it was not the first time that new technologies had possessed immense destructive potential, this time, they were directly targeting the younger generations…
