Overconfidence

“Overconfidence in a talented person can lead to failure.”
This sentence was the starting point of today’s discussion in the Health section of the Great Library of Esperia.

A surprised young Esper asked the question: “I don’t understand the connection with health…”

Kenko, the Shape of Health, replied gently: “This expression highlights the fact that when we have natural ease with certain things, it becomes easy for us to ignore those that seem more basic or simpler, such as health for example.”

“But we forget that we do not truly control our body! When we have a wound, for example, we do not have the means to order our body to instantly heal that injury.”

“Considering that our health is guaranteed often leads us to a life of excess, or to neglect physical exercise.”

“But you know the saying, don’t you? A healthy mind…”

… in a healthy body!” replied the Espers present at the day’s class with conviction.
