Perceiving One’s Shadow

The discovery of the StarDust had revealed the existence of a Shadow within every Esper.

Long ago, some philosophers already spoke of the importance of knowing oneself, and Eklea, the Shape of Awareness, believed that what they were truly referring to was this Shadow.

“This Shadow is a part of us. It is neither good nor bad, but it sometimes governs our actions, especially when we are carried away by our emotions.”

“Our daily habits also shape it little by little. That is why we write One Daily Tale: to help Espers around the world understand their Shadow and give them the means to perceive it more easily.”

To do this, developing one’s StarDust by combining, every day and in balance, the five elements representing wisdom, empathy, awareness, health, and willpower is a powerful way to perceive it.

“It takes light to perceive a Shadow. The Shadow within each of us is no exception, and it requires the light of our StarDust…”

Learning to recognize one’s Shadow also helps us understand that others, too, can sometimes be guided by their own Shadow.

But this work is personal. No one can make the effort in someone else’s place. However, we can all lead by example, especially for the younger generation.

    Harmony

Harmony may have been the word that best described Esperia—a true utopia where nature, living creatures, and the Espers who populated this world spent their days in mutual respect. The twist is that throughout history, this need for obstacles has sometimes taken the form of creating enemies. In many languages, this took the name of “barbarians.” In ancient times,…

    Muscles

With age, we slowly begin to lose muscle mass naturally. And in many sedentary countries, desk work doesn’t help make up for this loss. That’s why it’s important to do a few exercises—ideally every day—to rebuild the muscles that are lost. It’s a combination of a few things: More muscles also mean more calories burned…

If the debate between nature and nurture has endured through the ages, looking at it from the perspective of brain development makes it clear that nurture plays a significant role in shaping who a person becomes as an adult. Even in the womb, before the cognitive parts of the brain have fully developed, the emotional…

    Learn to Learn

Guided by the 7 Shapes, the Espers realized that their StarDust was the result of the teachings shared by all of them. One of the important things they also understood was that, no matter what they tried to do, the will to do it was extremely important. The funny thing is, in order to learn,…
