Perceiving Problems

Vati, the Shape of Wisdom, had an important responsibility: she was, for the Espers around the world, the symbol of a new society founded on new foundations.

As the Shape of Wisdom, one of her roles was to help the Espers perceive the existing problems.

Why?

Quite simply because we can only begin trying to solve problems once they have been perceived and understood.

Obvious when you think about it, isn’t it?

Yet the civilization of the Espers had been built over thousands of years without truly addressing its problems.

The first step, then, was to develop the water element within all Espers, to help them perceive the problems created by their own civilization.
And there were many!

The management of resources on a planet with limited resources.

The effects of using magic on the planetary ecosystem.

Demographic problems linked to technological and medical advances.

And many others…

The Seven Shapes did their best to ensure that discussions about subjects that had now become essential in everyone’s eyes would become part of the everyday life of the civilization of the Espers.
