The Shadow of Wisdom

As for Wisdom, the Shadow within each of the Espers was no less present. On the contrary, when faced with difficult questions or complex problems, this Shadow would often avoid the real issue and instead answer something simpler, something it was capable of solving without effort.

That was why the Espers sometimes behaved in contradictory ways, even though logic would have suggested that they act otherwise.

For understanding alone is not the same as wisdom. And yet, this Shadow would often take the shortcut.

Whether it was their relationship with nature, and how the use of magic on Esperia had forever changed the planet’s landscape, or the conflicts between the different elements that had never ceased, even though the five elements were part of a whole, the Shadow of the Espers still acted first and foremost in the interest of its host.

But knowing one’s Shadow and how it behaved was a major advantage, now made possible thanks to the discovery of the StarDust, which was also present within every Esper. By developing it, they could perceive this Shadow, which took control whenever the Espers acted unconsciously.

For the Espers around the world, understanding themselves better therefore meant developing this light within them, which allowed them to discern the Shadow that had always watched over them, sometimes in a clumsy way.
