Third Eye

Eklea liked to use concrete examples to explain abstract notions that were difficult to grasp, especially for the younger Espers.

This time, she used the example of a one-versus-one game played by two Espers. The game had a lot of depth, and a well-timed move could completely change the tide of the match.

She said, “When you are just a spectator, it is so much easier to see the good moves ahead than when you are the one playing.”

This isn’t only true for games, but for daily life as well. Sometimes, you are so focused on your own point of view that it becomes difficult to see a much simpler way to solve a problem.

I call it “The Third Eye.”

“Whenever you find yourself in a given situation, try to think as if you had a third eye—one that allows you to watch from the outside, free of heat or stress.”
