What Will the World Look Like for Future Generations

If the answer to this question can only be a matter of supposition, one thing is certain: it is the choices made today that will shape the future for generations to come.

The Seven Shapes understood well that the Espers, and their Shadow even more so, were creatures naturally inclined to think of themselves first.

The notions of sharing, friendship, compassion… All the values championed by One Daily Tale were not innate.

On the contrary, they relied on the ability of these same Espers to change and go beyond their primal instincts, which led them to perceive choices that were rational for themselves, but which very often became irrational on the scale of their society as a whole.

The writings of the Seven Shapes had highlighted the development of the StarDust present within each Esper, which allowed them to perceive this Shadow, their own instinct, more clearly, and to learn to live with it.

On a global scale, however, it was finally necessary to begin talking together about societal issues, despite how difficult some of the subjects could sometimes be.

For if technologies could seem futuristic to Espers from centuries past, the Espers themselves had not really changed…

If a single individual cannot change the entire world, the entire world is nevertheless made up of billions of those same individuals.

If one step a day seems insignificant when travelling a long distance, it is always one step less to go…

And the Espers, without even realizing it, have always made their true progress through cooperation and mutual support, rather than simply continuing to be guided by their Shadow…

    Failures

There is a certain irony in how the human brain works: for us to learn and grow, we also need to fail personally. Babies do it naturally when trying to grab objects, sit up, or learn how to walk: they try, fail, try again, fail again… When this was understood by the Espers on Esperia,…

    Empathy

    Natural Resources

In just a few hundred years, the shape of the Earth has drastically changed—mostly due to the use of fossil fuels that created the “world of abundance” we live in today. While this allowed some countries to thrive on this new “black gold,” when we realize that this resource is, first, not infinite, and second,…
